Summer Friend - 4.4% Saison. This year’s Summer Friend is a real crusher. While we’re working on growing up a new batch of Foraged Yeast Culture, we decided to revisit an old friend, the classic saison yeast of Tourpes. We mashed in @DeerCreekMalt barley, wheat, and triticale and hopped it judiciously with Hallertau Mittelfruh and Grungeist. We let that yeast strain do its thing hot and quick. We’re getting ripe notes of Juicy Fruit Gum, wild pear seltzer, rare multigrain toast, cracked white pepper, a zippy dry finish, and the classic saison joie de vivre.
