Oh shit, this one is fucking great! Brewed with German barley and a high percentage of wheat malt, double decocted, and hopped generously with Hallertau Select and Saphir, fermented and lagered slow and cold.
Really beautiful floral and herbal hop notes (Select and Saphir is such a gorgeous combo) balance a richly delicate bready malt character (decocted wheat malts add such a dry depth). People don’t usually talk about lager beer’s fermentation character, it’s often just labeled “clean.”
But there’s so much to it really, sure it can be subtle, but the gentle fruit and doughy dryness coming from this lager fermentation is so beautiful and special. We recommend a double order.
